13 INTERVIEW ANTONY MORGAN RHOON’S NEWLY APPOINTED HEAD PROFESSIONAL ANTONY MORGAN THE DRIVING RANGE, AN UNCUT DIAMOND The Rinus Goor Golfschool driving range at Rhoon GolfCenter is an uncut diamond, and recently Rinus Goor has appointed Antony Morgan as the new head professional. A new challenge that he is looking very much forward to. He is a trained golf professional, master fitter and golf club builder. “By going the extra mile and recognising that everyone is different, I ensure that my students’ and clients’ needs are always met. I need two things. I want them to ask me as many questions as they possibly can, and most importantly, to have fun. That’s what I really care about, and why I want to get to know and understand them all.” Passion, enthusiasm and continuous improvement. Those three qualifications best describe Antony Morgan. “I was living in Spain, the Costa del Sol, where I was working at a golf course. Because of the credit crunch in 2008 we decided to move back to the Netherlands. Somebody had mentioned a gentleman called Rinus Goor to me. A couple of weeks later we flew to the Netherlands, and went to visit my wife’s family in Delft. It took us a while before we found this golf course. It was a horrible summer’s day dominated by torrential rain and a sky as black as the ace of spades. Rinus came back from lunch, we spoke about the things I had been doing in Spain, and six weeks later I was employed by him. That’s how it began over here.” Antony started playing golf when he was 13. Back in the olden days, he learnt how to repair (predominantly) wooden clubs in a pro shop. “Coaching wise we didn’t do very much, UW TOTAALPARTNER IN DE INSTALLATIETECHNIEK Loodgieterswerkzaamheden Verwarming 0247935.pdf 1 19-11-2020 16:06:55 Ventilatie & Koeling 0253734.pdf 1 17-5-2021 15:27:43 0254728.pdf 1 15-6-2021 9:07:00
